Glover studied music in London and became a notable figure in the English music scene. He held positions as conductor and organist in several churches, as well as the Royal Philharmonic Society. Glover was known for his contributions to classical music, particularly to the field of church music.

Some of his notable works include two operas, "The Bride of the Isles" and "Zitha," and a Symphony in C minor.
