John Redford (c. 1485-1547) was a prominent English composer, organist, and dramatist of the Tudor period. He was born in Windsor and served as a vicar-choral at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, before later moving to St. Paul's Cathedral in London where he held the position of master of the boys.

Redford was known for his compositions for the church, including masses, motets, and anthems. He was also a prolific poet and wrote several works in both Latin and English, including the 23 verse poem "Nolo mortem peccatoris" (I do not wish the sinner's death).

Redford's music was highly regarded during his lifetime, and he was respected by many of his contemporaries, including the composer John Taverner. His works were performed widely in churches and chapels in England, and he was highly influential on later composers.

Some of Redford's notable works include the choirbook "Syllabys of Josquin", which contains works by the Renaissance composer Josquin des Prez, as well as Redford's own arrangements of his music.
