Johannes Ghiselin (Verbonnet) was a Flemish composer of the Renaissance who lived from around 1455 to 1511. He is best known for his chansons and motets, although he also wrote secular songs in Dutch. Ghiselin's music is characterized by its clear and approachable melodies, and he was known for his skillful use of imitation and counterpoint.

Despite his contributions to the genre, relatively little is known about Ghiselin's life. He was likely born in the Netherlands, and spent much of his career working in the courts of Europe. He may have been employed by Louis XII of France and by Alfonso II of Naples, where he is thought to have composed L'Alfonsina, a chanson in honor of the king.

Ghiselin's music was widely admired during his lifetime and beyond, and he was considered a leading composer of his time. His works were performed throughout Europe, and he was frequently praised for his technical prowess and his ability to write music that was both beautiful and accessible.

Today, Ghiselin's music is still performed and recorded by musicians around the world. His chansons and motets continue to be celebrated for their beauty and elegance, and his contributions to the development of Renaissance music remain important to music historians and enthusiasts alike.
