Short bio Johann Schobert
Full biography Johann Schobert
Johann Schobert was an 18th century composer and harpsichordist who was born in Silesia, which is now part of Poland. Not much is known about his early life, but it is believed that he was born around 1720, 1735, or 1740. Schobert is known for his harpsichord music, which includes concertos, symphonies, and operas. He was also well-regarded for his sonatas that were written for the harpsichord and accompanied by the violin.
Schobert's music was popular during his time, and he was even studied by a young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was influenced by his writing style. However, Schobert's career was cut short when he died at a relatively young age of 27 or 47 from eating poisonous mushrooms.
Interestingly, there is a mystery surrounding Schobert's death. Some sources claim that he was murdered, while others believe his death was accidental. The circumstances surrounding Schobert's death have been romanticized by some, and his story has been the subject of several articles and books.
Despite his relatively short career, Schobert's contributions to music have been recognized, and his name continues to be mentioned in discussions about notable composers of the 18th century.
