Bruzdowicz studied music in Poland, France, and the United States, working with such notable composers as Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Schaeffer, and Nadia Boulanger.
Throughout her career, Bruzdowicz composed a wide range of music, including opera, symphonic and chamber music, works for children, and music for film and television. She was particularly well-known for her collaborations with filmmaker Agnès Varda, for whom she composed the score for several films, including "Vagabond" and "Jacquot de Nantes".
Bruzdownicz's style was characterized by its eclectic and experimental approach, drawing on a variety of sources and techniques from classical and contemporary music, as well as traditional Polish folk music. Her music was often marked by a sense of playfulness and wit, as well as a deep sense of emotional expressiveness.
