Joan Trimble (1915-2000) was an Irish composer and pianist known for her works for piano and chamber ensembles , as well as her collaborations with her sister, Valerie Trimble, with whom she formed a piano duo. Born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, she studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College , Dublin.

Trimble's music is known for its romantic and lyrical qualities, and her compositions often draw on folk melodies and traditional Irish music. She also composed for other genres, including vocal music, orchestral arrangements, and incidental music for theater productions.

Trimble was highly regarded in her lifetime and continued to compose up until her death at the age of 85. She was also a co-owner of the Fermanagh Herald newspaper, which she ran with her sister Valerie. Her works continue to be performed and recorded today, and she is remembered as an important figure in Irish classical music.
