Heinz Robert Holliger is a Swiss virtuoso oboist , composer, and conductor born on May 21, 1939. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest oboists of his time and has been praised for his technical proficiency and innovative approach to music-making. In addition to his work as a performer, Holliger is also a noted composer who has written a wide range of works, including the opera "Schneewittchen," which premiered in 1998 at the Zurich Opera.

Holliger has collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, and Simon Rattle.
