Harriett Abrams (c. 1758-1821) was an English composer and soprano, born into a musical family of Jewish descent. She studied music theory and composition with the famous composer Thomas Arne. She became well known in London for her beautiful musical compositions and acclaimed voice. In addition to her vocal performances, she also wrote two and three-part songs.
Abrams was one of the few female composers of her time, and her music was highly regarded in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Many of her compositions were influenced by Italian and German styles, and her music was known for its elegant melodies.
Despite her talents and high reputation, there is relatively little information about Abrams' life. She died in Torquay, England in 1821 at the age of 63. Her legacy lives on through her musical compositions, which have been preserved through various sources including manuscripts and published sheet music.
