Gilbert Banester was an English composer who was possibly born in London in 1445. He is known for his contributions to the Fayrfax Manuscript and for producing pageants at Henry VII's court. It is unclear how many works he composed, and unfortunately, not much else is known about his life or career. Gilbert Banester is a relatively obscure figure in the world of classical music, but his contributions to the Fayrfax Manuscript are significant, as the manuscript is an important source of English sacred music from the early 16th century.
