Georges Lentz is a contemporary composer who was born in Luxembourg in 1965. He is currently based in Australia and is one of the country's most renowned composers. Lentz's music is known for its deep spirituality and its references to astronomy, the Australian landscape, and Aboriginal art.

Despite being far from a prolific writer, Georges Lentz has received international recognition and numerous awards for his work. He has written several string quartets, including "Ingwe," which was originally conceived as a guitar piece during a car trip to the Australian Outback. Lentz's writing process is meticulous, as he does not believe in copying and pasting, but instead prefers to create each piece from scratch.

Lentz has also written a violin concerto for German soloist Arabella Steinbacher , which is set to have its world premiere with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has collaborated with architect Glenn Murcutt to create the Cobar Sound Chapel in outback NSW , which is an acoustic space designed for musical performances.

Overall, Georges Lentz is a highly respected composer who is known for his thoughtful and thought-provoking music. His deep spiritual beliefs and love for the Australian landscape are reflected in his work, and he has made significant contributions to the contemporary classical music scene in Australia and beyond.
