George Frederick Pinto was an English composer and keyboard virtuoso ), born on September 25, 1785. Despite a tragically short life, he is remembered for his bold harmonic and melodic language , as well as his experiments in form and keyboard writing which were well ahead of his time.

Pinto began his musical studies at a young age , and by the time he was a teenager, he was already performing in public as a pianist. He composed prolifically, writing works for piano, violin, and voice. One of his most notable compositions is his set of violin sonatas, which were written when he was only 14 years old.

Pinto's talent and potential were widely recognized by his contemporaries. He performed in numerous concerts and was praised for his virtuosity and musicality. Unfortunately, Pinto's promising career was cut short when he died at the young age of 20, likely from tuberculosis or what one writer called 'dissipation'.

Despite his short life , Pinto's music continues to be appreciated by musicians and music lovers today. His works have been recorded and performed, and he is sometimes referred to as "the English Mozart" due to his prodigious talent and early success.
