George Alexander Osborne was an Irish composer and pianist who lived from 1806 to 1893. He was born in Limerick, Ireland and showed a strong interest in music from an early age. He later studied in Paris, where he met and became friends with Hector Berlioz, who often sought his advice about writing for the piano.
Osborne was an accomplished pianist and composer, and his music was well-regarded during his lifetime. He settled in London in 1843, where he became a director of the Royal Academy of Music. He was also a prolific composer, writing works for a variety of instruments, including piano trios and clarinet music.
One of Osborne's most famous works is his Andante and Rondo, which he wrote for the clarinettist Henry Lazarus in 1892. He also wrote three piano trios during his lifetime, which are still performed today.
Although Osborne is perhaps not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, such as Chopin or Liszt, his music is still revered by many musicians and enthusiasts today.
