Georg Rhau (Rhaw) (1488 - 6 August 1548) was a German composer and publisher , best known for his significant contributions to the music printing industry in Germany during the first half of the 16th century.

Rhau was born in Franconia, Germany and was the Kantor (choir director) at the Thomasschule in Leipzig, a position he held until 1533. During this time, he also made significant contributions to the music publishing industry in Germany, with many first editions of Martin Luther's writings and musical compositions.

Rhau's printing shop in Wittenberg was an important center for the publication of music during this time , with numerous musical prints originating from his shop. He was known for publishing a wide variety of religious and secular music, including songs by well-known composers such as Johann Walter and Johann Sebastian Bach.
