Franz Xaver Neruda was a Bohemian composer who lived from 1843 to 1915. He was born in Brno, which is now part of the Czech Republic. Neruda was a prolific composer, writing over 130 works in his lifetime. He studied music at the Prague Conservatory and later became a professor of composition there.

As a composer, Neruda was known for his use of folk melodies and his incorporation of elements of Czech culture into his music. He was particularly influenced by the works of Bedrich Smetana, one of the most famous Czech composers.

Neruda's most famous piece is his Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, which was composed in 1883. The concerto is still a popular work today and is often performed by orchestras around the world. In addition to his trumpet concerto, Neruda also wrote several other concertos, including works for violin, cello, and piano.

While he never achieved the same level of fame as some of his contemporaries, such as Johannes Brahms and Antonin Dvorak, Neruda's contributions to the world of classical music were significant. His music is still appreciated today for its unique blend of Czech and German influences, and for its beautiful melodies and harmonies.
