Francesco Antonio Baldassare Uttini was an Italian composer and conductor who was born in Bologna in 1723 and died in Stockholm , Sweden on the 25th of October, 1795. He was active in Sweden since 1755 and is known for his compositions and conducting. Uttini wrote three sinfonie and the oratorios La Giuditta, and La Passione, which were written in the virtuosic style. Although he was born in Italy, Uttini spent much of his professional life in Sweden and was an influential figure in Swedish music. Uttini's name is often associated with Swedish opera, in particular, due to his work as a conductor and composer in the country.
