Fini Henriques was a Danish composer born on July 20, 1867, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was known for his works that incorporated the elements of folk music, which led to his popularity in Denmark and beyond. Despite being trained in classical music, Henriques's music had a distinctly Danish feel that captured the essence of the country's culture and traditions.

Henriques studied music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he learned from prominent musicians such as Peter Erasmus Lange-Müller and Orla Rosenhoff. His first compositions were influenced by the late Romantic tradition of the time, but he started to move towards a more nationalistic style later in his career.

Henriques was a prolific composer, and he composed music in various genres, including symphonies, chamber music, and operas. Some of his best-known works include the symphonic poem "Nordic" and the opera "The Royal Pretender," a retelling of a Danish story set in the 18th century. He also wrote several pieces for solo piano, including the popular "Jolly Dance."

Henriques's music was widely performed during his lifetime, and he received numerous awards, including the Order of the Dannebrog. Today, his music is still performed regularly in Denmark and beyond, and his contributions to Danish music are widely recognized.
