Ezra Laderman (June 29, 1924 - February 28, 2015) was an American composer known for his contributions to classical music. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Laderman displayed an early talent for music, improvising at the piano by the age of four. He later studied composition with renowned composers such as Otto Luening, Roger Sessions, and Paul Hindemith.

Laderman's compositions ranged from solo instrumental and vocal works to large-scale choral and orchestral music. He was known for creating music that was eclectic, drawing inspiration from a variety of sources. His work about Marilyn Monroe for the opera "Marilyn" brought him public notice.

Throughout his career, Laderman was a prolific composer of symphonic, chamber, and vocal music. He also wrote music to the Academy Award-winning film "The Eleanor Roosevelt Story" and was awarded the Rome Prize and the Guggenheim Fellowship.

Laderman served as the president of the National Music Council and as the president of the American Music Center. He was also the chairman of the board of the American Composers Orchestra for several years. In 1954, Laderman became interested in writing for the theater and contributed music to several productions.

Laderman taught at several institutions throughout his career, including Brooklyn College, Queens College, and Yale University. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of innovative and expressive music.
