Full biography Etienne Ozi
Etienne Ozi was a French bassoonist, composer, pedagogue, and music publisher who lived between 1754 and 1813. Ozi composed mainly for the bassoon and was considered one of the most significant virtuosos of his time. He worked closely with composer François Devienne and was a teacher at the Paris Conservatoire, where he taught from 1793 until his death in 1813. Ozi published three bassoon treatises, with the Nouvelle methode de bassoon being the most influential. He is also known for his concertos, symphonies concertantes, and pedagogical exercises. He passed away on October 5, 1813.
