Ernstalbrecht Stiebler is a German composer born on March 29th, 1934, who has been involved with minimalism and ranks among the pioneers of reductive , or reductionist, music. He is considered one of Germany's oldest living modern classical composers. Throughout his career, Stiebler has written music influenced by the Second Viennese School, as well as working with electroacoustic and computer-generated sound.

Stiebler's work often involves static harmonies, extended durations, repetition, and gradual rhythmic changes. He has worked with various instruments and ensembles, including solo piano, cello, and improvisation duos. Stiebler has collaborated with several musicians, including Tilman Kanitz, with whom he recorded six improvisations in his mid-80s.

In 2020, Another Timbre released an album of four compositions by Stiebler titled "Fr Biliana." The album features solo cello pieces written for Biliana Voutchkova, a contemporary violinist.
