Ernest Augustus Kellner was an English composer, pianist, singer, and teacher born on January 26, 1792, in Windsor, England. He was known for performing under royal patronage, and he composed a number of works during his lifetime. Kellner began his career as a singer and pianist before moving on to composition and teaching.

Kellner studied music with some of the most significant musicians of his time, including Johann Baptist Cramer and Ignaz Moscheles. He soon began performing in public, where he became known for his virtuosity on the piano. Eventually, he was appointed professor of music at Queen's College, London.

In addition to teaching, Kellner composed a wide variety of music, including songs, sonatas, and orchestral works. His works were greatly influenced by the works of Beethoven, Mozart and Haydn, and many of his compositions were well received by critics of his time.

Despite being a talented musician, Kellner struggled with personal issues throughout his life. This included financial problems, as well as difficulties with alcohol and depression. He died on July 18, 1839, at the age of 47.

Today, Kellner is remembered as an important figure in the classical music world. His works are still performed and recorded, and his legacy serves as a reminder of the importance of musical education and innovation.
