Full biography Erich Urbanner
Erich Urbanner is an Austrian composer and educator born on March 26, 1936. He studied composition with prominent composers such as Hanns Jelinek and Karl Schiske at the Vienna Academy of Music, and later on, with Luigi Nono in Venice. Urbanner is known for his expert use of modern compositional techniques in his works, including serialism and microtonality.
Apart from composing, Urbanner is also a respected educator. He served as a professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he taught composition and music theory. Over the years, he has taught and influenced many composers who have gone on to have successful careers.
Urbanner has written works for various ensembles, including chamber groups, symphony orchestras, and choirs. Some of his notable works include "Doppelkonzert" for trumpet, piano, and ensemble, "Phonomanie III" for chamber ensemble, and "5 Bagatellen" for guitar.
