Full biography Eivind Buene

Eivind Buene is a renowned Norwegian composer and writer. He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music from 1992 to 1998 , and the following two years he was the composer in residence with the Oslo Sinfonietta. From 2000 onwards, Buene has been active as a freelance composer , based in Oslo, writing for a number of ensembles and orchestras at home and abroad.

Buene has written music for soloists , ensembles, and orchestras, and has been the composer in residence for several musical organizations. In 2006/2007, he was the composer in residence with the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Buene is known for his unique style, which often features asymmetrical music and unconventional instrumentation.

Apart from his musical work, Buene is also a fiction writer and professor of composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He has been published by Edition Wilhelm Hansen and Cappelen Damm , and his music has been featured on various platforms.

Buene is a highly regarded composer and writer in his field, and his works have been performed in numerous venues and festivals around the world. He challenges himself by taking up projects that require him to write both music and text, which has resulted in some of his most interesting works.
