Full biography Earl Kim
Earl Kim (1920-1998) was a celebrated American composer and music pedagogue whose works were noted for their gentle sonorities, sparse instrumentation, and sense of mystery. Born in Dinuba, California, Kim was of Korean descent and grew up in Fresno, where he began taking music lessons at an early age. He went on to study at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music composition.
