Dominique Phinot (c. 1510 – c. 1556) was a Franco-Flemish composer of the Renaissance period. He is known for his contributions to sacred music, particularly for his motets and polychoral works. Phinot was active in Italy and southern France during his lifetime and was highly regarded by his contemporaries for his mastery of imitative polyphonic writing.
Relatively little is known about Phinot's life, including his exact birthplace and date of birth. There is a suggestion that he may have been of French origin, and Girolamo Cardano, a writer of the time, mentioned him in relation to music in France.
