Domenico Ferrabosco was a well-known Italian composer who lived in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. He was born in Bologna in 1513 as the eldest son of Alfonso Ferrabosco, another Italian composer who was renowned during his time for his church music.

Domenico followed in his father's footsteps and became a composer himself. Although much of his music hasn't survived, he was highly regarded by his contemporaries for his compositions, particularly his madrigals. He also wrote music for the stage, including a masque called "The Vision of Delight," which was performed at the court of King James I in 1617.

Ferrabosco was also known for his skills as a viol player, an instrument that he played regularly in the English court. In fact, he was appointed as the court musician to King James I in 1604 and remained in that position until his death in 1644.

Throughout his career, Ferrabosco was highly respected for his contributions to early music, and he is remembered as one of the notable composers of his time. His talent and dedication to his craft enabled him to become a prominent figure in the music world, and his legacy has endured to this day.
