Delphin Strungk was a German composer and organist who lived during the 17th century. He was born in the year 1600 in the city of Schleswig, which was a part of the Danish Duchy of Schleswig at the time. Strungk came from a family of musicians and was thus exposed to music from an early age. His father, Hans Strungk, was a prominent organist and composer, and his brother, also named Hans, was a successful composer.

Delphin Strungk was known for his skills as a keyboardist, particularly on the organ. He served as the court organist in the Danish city of Gottorf from 1622 to 1634 before moving to the city of Wolfenbüttel in modern-day Germany. Strungk took up the position of court organist at the Wolfenbüttel court under the patronage of Prince August the Younger in 1635, and he remained in this role until his death in 1694.

Strungk composed a number of vocal and instrumental works during his lifetime, many of which have survived to the present day. His compositions were primarily influenced by the styles of German and Italian Baroque music. Strungk's works are characterized by their intricate and complex harmonies, as well as their use of counterpoint and fugue-style melodies.

Some of Strungk's notable works include his "Cantiones Sacrae," a collection of sacred vocal music, and his "Geistliche Konzerte," a collection of sacred concertos. He also composed a number of keyboard works, including his "Praeludium und Fuga" and "Toccata d-Moll."

Delphin Strungk's contributions to the Baroque music repertoire were significant, and his music continues to be studied and performed by scholars and musicians around the world.
