She studied at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and later earned a Master's degree in harp performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
As a performer, Braga has gained international recognition for her unique style, which blends traditional Brazilian music with jazz, classical, and pop influences. She has released several albums as a solo artist, including "Cristina Braga canta com Cristina Braga" and "Paisagem."
In addition to her solo work, Braga has collaborated with many other artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Eugene Friesen, and bassist Dudu Lima. She has also worked as a composer and arranger, creating new works for the harp and other instruments.
