In his youth, he studied with several prominent violinists and composers in Paris, including Pierre Baillot, Rodolphe Kreutzer, and Niccolo Paganini.

Beriot's compositions were heavily influenced by his virtuosic violin playing, and he wrote many pieces specifically for himself to perform in concert. He was known for his technical mastery of the violin, including his use of harmonics, double stops, and fast arpeggios. His music was popular with audiences throughout Europe, and he performed in major concert halls in Paris, London, Vienna, and Berlin.

Beriot's most famous work is his Violin Concerto No. 9 in A minor, which is still performed today. The piece showcases Beriot's virtuosity and technical skill, with its intricate solo passages and fast tempos.
