Carlo Pallavicino (or Pallavicini) was an Italian composer who lived in the 17th century. He was born around 1630 and passed away on January 29th, 1688. Pallavicino was known for his work as an opera composer, and he premiered more than 20 operas during his lifetime in the cities where he worked, such as Venice (Italy) and Dresden (Germany).

Pallavicino's son, Stefano Benedetto Pallavicino, also followed in his footsteps and became a writer and opera librettist. Carlo's opera La Gerusalemme liberata is one of his most well-known works and has been arranged several times.

Although Pallavicino was primarily known for his work as an opera composer, he had other interests as well. Specifically, he was likely influenced by the maverick composer Carlo Gesualdo.
