Carlo Giorgio Garofalo was an Italian composer who lived from 1886 to 1962. He was a prolific composer who wrote many pieces in various genres, including operas, symphonies, and chamber music. He was also a teacher of music and had a notable influence on his son, Marcello Garofalo, who became an artistic director, conductor, and musical coach.

One of Carlo Giorgio Garofalo's most notable works is the opera "The Juggler," which premiered in the US. He also wrote several four-movement symphonies, one of which, the Romantic Symphony, was performed partially in Moscow by American composer and conductor Joel Spiegelman.

Garofalo received private music instruction from his own father and went on to teach music himself. One of his notable students was the renowned Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who composed over 400 film scores during his career. Garofalo also taught Alfredo De Ninno, who later became the director of the Naples Conservatory of Music.
