Carl Friedrich Rungenhagen (1778-1851) was a German composer , teacher, and conductor of music. He was born in Berlin and received his early musical education from his father, who was a violinist.

Rungenhagen had a successful career as a composer, and many of his works were well-received during his lifetime. He composed primarily for voice and piano, and his works showed a strong influence from the German Lieder tradition.
