Bertha Tammelin was a Swedish musician and actress who lived from 1836 to 1915. She was an operatic mezzo-soprano and composer, and is known for her contributions to 20th-century classical music. Tammelin was born in Stockholm, Sweden and began her career as a singer in the mid-19th century. She made her debut at the Royal Swedish Opera in 1861 and went on to perform in numerous productions there.

In addition to her singing career, Tammelin was also a composer and writer. She composed several pieces for voice and piano, including "Fem Sanger," "Drömmar," and "Blommors saga." She also wrote the libretto for one of her own operas, "Nären Hon Kommer," which premiered in 1902 at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.

Tammelin is one of the few blind composers and musicians from the turn of the 20th century that is still recognized today, and her contributions to the classical music canon have been celebrated for over a century. Her work has been featured on numerous recordings and in concert programs, and her legacy continues to be honored by classical music enthusiasts and scholars around the world.
