Full biography August Enna
August Enna was a Danish composer born on May 13, 1859, and died on August 3, 1939. He was mainly known for his operas, which were strongly influenced by the music of Wagner. In fact, Enna's music was influential to Danish composers such as Carl Nielsen. Additionally, he wrote piano music and had a successful career as a music director for Werner's Theatrical Society. Enna was inspired by fairy tales in composing some of his works, and his compositions were praised for their alluring harmonies and tense leitmotifs , making him the most celebrated Danish opera composer of his time. Some of his most famous works include the operas The Witch (Heksen) and Kleopatra, as well as his Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 2. Although Enna's music may be considered old-fashioned by some, he made a significant contribution to Danish classical music and is regarded as one of the country's most influential composers.
