Anton Zimmermann was an 18th-century composer and organist who spent his career in different parts of Europe. He was born in Silesia and spent most of his career in Bohemia and Austria. Zimmermann was known for his symphonies, with many of them believed to be written for the group he worked with at the time, including the Archbishop of Olomouc.

Apart from his symphonies, Zimmermann also composed chamber music for strings and the double bass concerto in D major. He was a contemporary of Joseph Haydn and was part of the second generation of composers for the Viennese Violone.
