Antoine-Frederic Gresnick was a Belgian classical composer born on March 2 , 1755, in Liege. He studied music in Naples and is chiefly remembered for writing opera buffa, of which he wrote at least twenty-three. During the Classical period, he was considered an important composer and his work was highly acclaimed. His contributions to music include symphonies, concertos, and chamber music, as well as operas. Gresnick passed away on October 16, 1799, at the age of 44. He collaborated with playwright Etienne Morel de Chedeville on the work "La clochette", which was performed in Paris in 1799. Overall, Antoine-Frederic Gresnick is an important composer of the Classical period whose work has influenced the development of the genre.
