Andreas Raselius, also known as Andreas Rasel , was a German composer and Kapellmeister during the Renaissance period. He was born around 1563 and died on January 6, 1602. Not much is known about his early life, but as an adult, he worked for many noble families in Germany and also served as the Kapellmeister at St. Sebaldus Church in Nuremberg for a time.

Raselius is known for his vocal music, especially his motets and chorale settings. Some of his most well-known works include his "Teutsche Kirchenlieder" collection and his hymn settings, such as "Es bringt das rechte Jubeljahr," which was based on a Luther text. He was also known to have collaborated with other composers of his time, such as Michael Praetorius.

Overall, Andreas Raselius was an important figure in the development of sacred vocal music during the Renaissance period and his works were highly regarded in his time. Though he may not be as well-known today as some of his contemporaries, his contributions to the genre have certainly left their mark on the history of music.
