Andreas Nemetz was a Czech/Moravian composer born on November 14, 1799, in the town of Chvalkovice. He was also a bandmaster, writer of teaching works for brass instruments , and a significant figure in the early development of the trombone as a solo instrument. Nemetz was based in Vienna, where he published several works throughout his career, including his most well-known piece, "Neueste Posaun-Schule," which translates to "The Latest Trombone Method." This was published in 1827 and is an early Viennese trombone method that played an important role in the history of the instrument.

Nemetz's compositions are primarily centered around brass instruments, and he wrote many works for brass bands, including marches and overtures. He was also a prolific writer of teaching works for brass instruments , including his famous trombone method, which was widely used in the 19th century.

While Nemetz is not a widely known figure in the music world today, his contributions to the development of the trombone as a solo instrument were significant, and his works continue to be studied by scholars and performers.
