Andreas Düben (also spelled as Andreas Diben or Andreas Düben Sr.) was a prominent German Baroque composer and organist who lived from 1597 to 1662. He was born in Mölln, a town in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Andreas Düben held several prestigious positions during his lifetime. He was a court musician for the Duke of Saxe-Weimar and later became the Kapellmeister at the German Church in Stockholm.

Andreas Düben composed a wide variety of music, including church music, orchestral music, and keyboard works. Unfortunately, many of his works have been lost over time, and only a few of his compositions have survived to the present day. One of his most famous works is the "Passion Music According to St. John," which is a choral work that tells the story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Andreas Düben's sons, Gustav and Andreas Jr., were also musicians and composers. Gustav Düben was a prominent Swedish Baroque composer and organist, while Andreas Jr. was a musician at the court of King Charles XI of Sweden. Andreas Düben's descendants continued to play important roles in the Swedish music scene for several generations, with several of his descendants serving as court musicians and composers in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Andreas Düben's contributions to Baroque music were significant, and his influence can be heard in the music of his contemporaries. Despite the loss of many of his works, he remains an important figure in the history of music.
