Anders Eliasson was a Swedish composer born on April 3, 1947, in Borlänge, Sweden, and died on May 20, 2013. He is best known for his contributions to contemporary classical music and is considered one of Sweden's foremost composers. Eliasson began his musical journey playing the trumpet at the age of 9 and subsequently formed a jazz band where he wrote musical arrangements. His musical influences were varied and included Swedish folk music, contemporary classical music, jazz, and rock music.
Eliasson's extensive body of work includes over 100 compositions ranging from oratorios and symphonies to chamber and vocal music. He was known for his unique and personal style that incorporated many different musical techniques and styles within his compositions.
