Albert Arlen (1905-1993) was a Turkish-Australian composer, actor, playwright, and pianist. He was born as Albert Aaronson in Istanbul, Turkey, to Jewish parents who migrated to Australia when he was a young boy. Arlen was educated at Cleveland Street Public School and Crown Street Technical School in Sydney.

Arlen is best known for his musical "The Sentimental Bloke," which premiered in London in 1932. The musical was based on a popular Australian poem of the same name by C.J. Dennis. Arlen's other works include "Underneath the Arches," "Tarantella," "The Love Nest," and "The Tender Trap."

Arlen started writing music after seeing a show in London in 1932 and began composing songs, musicals, and plays. He went on to collaborate with several notable artists of the time, including Cole Porter. Arlen also appeared in several films and television shows, including "The Boy Friend" and "Z Cars."
