Ľudovit Rajter was a Slovak composer born on August 1st, 1916, in the town of Dolný Kubín. He was a prominent figure in the Slovak music scene, known for his contributions to the development of modern Slovak classical music.

Rajter's early musical education began at a local primary school in his hometown. He later attended the state conservatory in Bratislava, where he studied under renowned composer Alexander Moyzes. During this time, he composed his first works, including his String Quartet No. 1, which earned him critical acclaim.

Rajter's compositions were influenced by Slovak folk music, which he incorporated into his works through the use of folk instruments and motifs. His works also reflected his deep love of Slovak culture and history. Some of his notable compositions include his Symphonic Poem, Apotheosis, and his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.

In addition to his contributions to Slovak classical music, Rajter also worked as a teacher and conductor. He taught at the Bratislava State Conservatory and served as the conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra.

Throughout his career, Rajter received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to Slovak music. These included the State Prize for Artistic Work and the Order of the Slovak Republic.
