In music, a note is the representation of a musical sound. Notes can represent the pitch and duration of a sound in musical notation. A note can also represent a pitch class.

There are 7 musical notes, which are the first seven letters of the alphabet. Each musical note is assigned the name of A, B, C, D, E, F, or G.

A frequency is a representation of pitch measured by Hz. Hertz represent how many times a sound wave vibrates in one second. So a note measured at 440 Hz completes 440 vibrations per second. Slow vibrations, or lower values, result in deeper pitches, while faster vibrations (higher values) sound higher.
