tenth

A tenth is a distance between a pair of notes. The distance between a pair of notes is known in music as an interval. Compound intervals are larger than an octave. A tenth is also known as a “compound major 3rd”, because it's the same pitch as the major 3rd, but an octave higher.

A 10th interval, as the name suggests, is an interval of 10 scale degrees. The first chord in Georgia is an Fmaj7 and so we use the F major scale to find the 10th interval for this chord. An easier way to visualise the 10th is simple to think the 3rd of the chord, but an octave higher.

Tenths sound good (although they can't be called chords) because particularly with notes in lower register played as thirds (say G with the next B note up from it) often sound muddy, mainly due to their harmonics getting mixed up with each other. Thus they sound even better on bass guitars.

Counting the interval from 'C', past the octave to 'E' gives 10 notes. These are C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, and E. Thus this interval's number quality is a 'tenth'. This interval is an octave higher than the 'third' interval.

The tenth item in a series is the one that you count as number ten. A tenth is one of ten equal parts of something.

one out of ten parts One tenth is the same as one out of ten parts. It is a common fraction that means the same as 10% or 0.1.

8.5 inches To play a tenth on the standard piano, a handspan (distance from thumb to smallest finger) of roughly 8.5 inches is needed.

In my music it happens right before letter C. And it starts with thirds. And then when you see my hands spread out you'll know I'm playing tennis. The tents were.

You know or six you can add another note or a fifth. Even here's adding the fifth. Notice I'm rolling it. So that's in a way an arpeggiated tenth.

As we know, class interval = upper limit - lower limit. So, for 0-10, upper limit = 10 and lower limit = 0. Hence, class interval = 10-0 = 10. Similarly, for all classes, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60.
