A Symphonic Band refers to an ensemble with multiple players on a part. A Wind Orchestra typically does not have saxophones or euphoniums (like the wind section of an orchestra). A Wind Symphony is just a made up term to sound more high class than a “band”.

“Band requires more physical activity and there is a greater variety in sound. It takes a great amount of preparation to learn how to march, but it also takes a lot of hard work to learn how to play a string instrument like a cello or violin,” freshman Diane Bao said.

Symphonic Band members perform 6+ times in a school year and compete in band competitions such as Region Band, Solo & Ensemble, FBISD Band Contest, and UIL Concert & Sight Reading.
