[French, sensitive - Italian, sensitive] An Italian and French directive to perform the indicated passage of a composition in a sensitive, perceptible or expressive manner. The French term for leading note (also note sensible) or the major seventh of a scale.
Accelerando (accel.) Quickening; a gradual speeding up of the tempo.
Scherzando, “playful,” is an adjective used in music. Like many musical terms, scherzando is of Italian origin, it being the gerund of the verb scherzare “to joke.” The noun scherzo, “a musical movement or passage of light or playful character,” is another derivative from the verb.
A virtuoso is an incredibly talented musician. You can also be a virtuoso in non-musical fields. A politician who helps pass a lot of bills might be called a legislative virtuoso.

When the music gets gradually louder we call it a crescendo, and when we get gradually quieter we call it a diminuendo. These can be shown in the music by the marks cresc.
