Meaning of "Re" in Music
In music, "Re" is a syllable used in solfège, a music education method used to teach aural skills, pitch, and sight-reading of Western music. Solfège assigns syllables to the notes of the scale, enabling musicians to audiate (mentally hear) the pitches of a piece of music and sing them aloud. The syllables commonly used in English-speaking countries are: do, re, mi, fa, so(l), la, and ti (or si). Each syllable represents a specific pitch in the musical scale. "Re" specifically represents the second note of the scale.
