Meaning of "Mi" in Music

In music, "Mi" is a syllable representing the third tone of the diatonic scale. It is part of the solfège system, which is a method used to teach aural skills, pitch, and sight-reading in Western music education. The solfège system assigns syllables to the notes of the scale, enabling musicians to audiate or mentally hear the pitches of a piece of music and sing them aloud. The seven syllables commonly used in English-speaking countries are: do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, and ti (or si). "Mi" specifically represents the third note of the scale.
