The English band Breezer were tired of waiting for Oasis to get back together - so they made their own record, using AI to generate Liam Gallagher's singing voice.

AISIS is a mind-expanding 8-song album that eerily mimics the Gallagher brothers' sound on tracks written and recorded by Breezer in the group's style, with the original singer's voice later replaced by an AI vocals in the style of Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.

The eight-track album – titled The Lost Tapes Volume One and under the name AIsis – features music and lyrics written by the real-life band Breezer, but with Gallagher's AI-generated voice singing them. Songs such as “Out of My Mind” and “Coming of Age” feature on the AIsis album.

K-pop band MAVE's debut single went viral in January 2023, with the film clip surpassing 10 million views in two weeks. But everything about the band – its members, music, choreography and interviews – was generated by artificial intelligence.

Who owns the rights to Oasis' songs? Alongside management's share, Noel Gallagher still holds the rights to Oasis' catalogue, as Liam found out to his own cost when he wanted to use the songs in his documentary As You Were.

The word oasis came into English from Latin: oasis, from Ancient Greek: ὄασις, óasis, which in turn is a direct borrowing from Demotic Egyptian. The word for oasis in the latter-attested Coptic language (the descendant of Demotic Egyptian) is wahe or ouahe which means a "dwelling place".

1991–1993: Formation and early years Liam suggested that the band name be changed to Oasis, inspired by an Inspiral Carpets tour poster in the childhood bedroom he shared with his brother Noel, which listed the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon as a venue.

The eight-track album – cleverly entitled 'AISIS' – was developed by indie band Breezer, who created their own tracks, then added an AI version of Liam Gallagher's voice over the top.
