Philipp Maintz is a German composer who was born in 1977. He received his first composition training in Hanover and went on to study with Wolfgang Rihm in Karlsruhe. After completing his studies, he has gone on to have a successful career as a composer, with works performed and commissioned by orchestras and ensembles around the world.

In 2004, Philipp Maintz was selected to be Composer in Residence at the Knstlerhof Schreyahn in Germany. He has also worked with organ builder Philipp Klais , sound engineer Martin Van Deun and tonal way to continue writing the tradition in the present.
