Miklos Maros is a Hungarian composer who was born on October 2, 1943, in Budapest, Hungary. He is known for his notable contributions to contemporary classical music. Maros studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and graduated in 1966. After completing his studies, he continued to work at the Academy as a researcher and lecturer.
Maros’ musical style is characterized by his use of a wide range of techniques and genres, including serialism, tonality, and electronic music. His works often explore themes related to history and Hungarian culture. Some of his most notable works include "12 Stations/Tolv Stationer," "Chronicon Hungaricum," and "String Quartet No. 2."
Throughout his career, Maros has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the Artisjus Prize and the Kossuth Prize, which is the most prestigious cultural award in Hungary. He has also served as the president of the Hungarian Composers’ Union and as a professor at the Liszt Academy of Music.
